God's Will in Your Ways

God's Will in Your Ways

God's will in your ways The Return Tyler Stricklan June 15th, 2025 Have you ever wondered why trying to live out your faith can feel so exhausting? 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to give recognition to those who labor among you and lead you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to regard them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. Gratitude accepts admonishment and affirmation. 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 14 And we exhort you, brothers and sisters: warn those who are idle, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 See to it that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all. Patience chooses people over pettiness. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray constantly, 18 give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Don’t stifle the Spirit. 20 Don’t despise prophecies, 21 but test all things. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil. Pauls Do’s and Don’ts 1. Encourage your leaders 2. Warn the spiritually asleep 3. Comfort and help those who need it 4. Seek peace and be patient 5. Purse what is good for each other over repaying evil 6. Rejoice, pray, and give thanks non-stop 7. Don’t ignore the Holy Spirit 8. Don’t disregard prophecies but test them 9. Grasp what is good and flee from all evil Dependence keeps us rooted when life feels overwhelming. Life disconnected from the Holy Spirit is impossible to sustain. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-28 23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will do it. 25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us also. 26 Greet all the brothers and sisters with a holy kiss. 27 I charge you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the brothers and sisters. 28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Next Steps Practice spirit dependent prayer every morning this week. “Holy Spirit, I need You today. Help me in every moment to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Jesus.” Affirm a leader who has spoken truth into your life. Text, phone call, snail mail, face to face Whether they affirmed or admonished you, thank them.
