Above the Sun Under the Sun Kile Baker February 23rd, 2025 Series Tagline: Discovering what is meaningful, by determining what is meaningless. Our Theme Verse: "There is nothing better for a person than to eat, drink, and enjoy his work. I have seen that even this is from God’s hand, because who can eat and who can enjoy life apart from him?" — Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 Ecclesiastes 12:9-14 In addition to the Teacher being a wise man, he constantly taught the people knowledge; he weighed, explored, and arranged many proverbs. 10 The Teacher sought to find delightful sayings and write words of truth accurately. 11 The sayings of the wise are like cattle prods, and those from masters of collections are like firmly embedded nails. The sayings are given by one Shepherd. 12 But beyond these, my son, be warned: there is no end to the making of many books, and much study wearies the body. 13 When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: fear God and keep his commands, because this is for all humanity. 14 For God will bring every act to judgment, including every hidden thing, whether good or evil. God is delightful and true, and what He has created communicates this truth in a delightful way. Will we create our own pleasures, or enjoy the pleasures of the Creator who calls us His own? God’s words are filled with wisdom that make us smile and warnings that make us wince. Can we obey the words of God in scripture, even when we are offended by them? God has created us to put Him first and forever. If we don’t want to put Him first in our temporal lives, how could we want to be with Him forever in our eternal lives? In our lives under the sun God has given us everything we need to prepare to meet Him who is above the sun. When it comes time to meet your maker, will you be glad to see Him or will you need more time? Revelation 22:12-15 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. 14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
