When you’re in a partnership it’s less about rules, and more about the relationship. Partnership: the terms of ownership, responsibility and accountability in a relationship. LifePoint Value: You can belong before you believe. What should I believe? What will I belong to? Partnership with no one is independence. Partnership with God is dependence. The Gospel 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. God created everything, including you. Which means He is the authority in the world and in your life. (Genesis 1-3; Matthew 28”17-18) Matthew 28:17-18 When they saw him, they worshiped, but some doubted. Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.” God gave good commands which showcase his character. Which means we are to reflect this character.  (Genesis 2:16-17; John 13:34) John 13:34 “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another.” You rebelled against God’s good commands, becoming your own authority. Which means sin and death rule over you. (Genesis 3; Romans 3:23; John 8:31-34) ‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-34‬ “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” God rescued us from sin and death by dying in our place. Which means we can have eternal life with God, and a purposeful life with people. (Galatians 1:4; Mark 10:45; John 3:16) John 3:16 For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. You respond to God’s grace by faith. Which means you receive the gift of eternal life, and now desire repent of your sins and live for God. (John 8:11; Matthew 16:24-25; Galatians 2:20) Matthew 16:24-25 “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will find it. God created God commanded You rebelled God rescued You respond Partnership with the church is interdependence: 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 24-25 For just as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body—so also is Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and we were all given one Spirit to drink. Indeed, the body is not one part but many. God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the less honorable, so that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other. So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. We hope to help you partner with God for eternal life, and partner with the church for a meaningful life.
