Greater than we comprehend Greater Kile Baker March 2, 2025 Summary of Hebrews: Whatever you think of Jesus, He’s greater. “Aslan" said Lucy "you're bigger". "That is because you are older, little one" answered he. "Not because you are?" "I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger.” ― C.S. Lewis, Prince Caspian Hebrews 1:1-3 Long ago God spoke to the ancestors by the prophets at different times and in different ways. 2 In these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things and made the universe through him. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of his nature, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Christ the Revealer: While the profits pointed to God, Christ personified God. Christ the Inheritor: Christ inherited as firstborn over all of creation, what humanity forfeited at the beginning of creation. Christ the Creator: In the beginning, He made it all; and at the end, He will restore it all. Christ the Radiator: God’s glory once brought death, but through Christ we’re now drawn near. Christ the Representor: Everything in creation has spoken for God, Jesus Christ speaks as God. Christ the Rescuer: Religion says “do”, and Christ said “done!” Christ the Ruler: Earthly rulers rise and fall, Christ the king eternally reigns over all. The supremacy of Christ should cause us to be supremely confident that when we trust in Christ, we know God is for us, with us, and will never leave us. Next Week: Greater than the angels
